I have great respect for those who start a business. It takes a lot of strategizing, planning, investing, and hard work. No matter how carefully a new business is planned, there is no promise that it will be successful. Starting a new business is a step of faith. For the follower of Jesus, our entire life is a step of faith. Jesus promises that He will help and guide us as we step out in faith to walk according to the plan he has for our lives. In Luke 19:13 we read: “So he called ten of his servants and gave them ten minas. ’Put this money to work,’ he said, ‘until I come back.’” Jesus is telling a parable here about the gifts that He gives to each of us who love Him and are His follower. We are to invest in the gifts He has given us for His glory. As we do so, He guarantees a good return on our investment. This is not just in a business sense, although it could be if He has gifted you with the unique ability to start one. But for all of us who love Him, invest your gifts in things that have eternal significance.

These have been words from the heart.
