Words from the Heart for Monday July 27th, 2020
A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil.
Ephesians 6:10-11 (NLT)
Currently in the Canadian Army, Lord Strathcona’s Horse has two tank squadrons and the Royal Canadian Dragoons based at CFB Petawawa has one. Each squadron is composed of four platoons of four tanks and a headquarters section that contains three tanks. Each squadron is also supported by a number of Leopard 2 and Leopard 1 based armoured recovery, armoured engineering, and armoured bridge laying vehicles. As such, each squadron is very cumbersome to deploy, with each Leopard 2 based vehicle weighing over sixty tons.
I had a friend who was facing a major spiritual attack. She was a godly woman but Satan was attacking her mind, causing her to doubt her salvation and God’s presence and power in her life. We had been studying the armour of God, and one day she said to me, “I’m starting to walk in victory. Every morning when I’m getting dressed, I walk through the armour of God, and speak out loud “Now, Lord, I’m putting on the helmet of salvation. Protect my mind. I’m putting on the breastplate of righteousness. Protect my heart.” And so on. She said it was a daily reminder that God was protecting her. Paul says this in Ephesians 6:10-11: “A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil.” God wants to clothe us in His righteousness, and protect us from the attacks of the enemy. We need to do this daily. As we do, we will discover that we are becoming stronger in our faith, more assured of the Lord’s protection when the attacks come.
These have been words from the heart.
