For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Good Works

The Skills Compass program of Colleges and Institutes Canada helps engage young Canadians who are currently not in employment, education or training, to develop the life skills, essential skills and career readiness they need to go back to school and prepare for a career. This three-year program is designed to meet the needs of unemployed or underemployed Indigenous and newcomer youth between the ages 18 to 30 years. By bringing together colleges and institutes, along with service providers, community partners and employers, the program helps identify and address common barriers to education and employment.

The heart of Jesus is always for others. It’s why He came – for others. He told the parable of the lost sheep – He is the shepherd who leaves the ninety-nine to go and search for the one who is lost. Jesus was always about others, and God’s people are called to be as well. After all, we are saved in order to do good works. Paul writes this in Ephesians 2:10: “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Jesus transformed your life, but not so you can sit and soak in the goodness of God. We are saved to serve others, created in Christ Jesus to do good works. After all, Paul says, God has prepared good works for us to do. Our goal must be to discover what good works God is calling us to do and then get about doing them. If you have been transformed by Jesus Christ, if you see His handiwork in your life, get going on serving others. It is God’s planned purpose for you.

These have been words from the heart.
