You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.

Peace of Mind

Based on the survey of more than 1,500 respondents across the country, the 2020 Financial Stress Index pointed to money as the number one worry for nearly four in ten Canadians, and the cause of sleepless nights for half of the adult population. By comparison, only 25 per cent of Canadians cited personal health as the top stressor. Twenty-one per cent said work was their biggest source of stress; 16 per cent of respondents cited relationships as their biggest source of stress.

One of the greatest needs in our world today is peace of mind. All you have to do is watch the number of ads on TV or social media to understand this – people are chronically sleep deprived and all sorts of pills and meds are available to help your mind slow down and your body rest. The Bible gives an answer to this chronic problem. Isaiah 26:3 says this: “You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.” Jesus came for one purpose – to take upon Himself the sin that separates us from our Creator. It is that separation that steals our peace – of mind and heart. So, God spoke through the prophet Isaiah, giving us a promise that is for all who trust in Jesus Christ – we will experience His peace. I love that the Lord promises perfect peace. It is perfect because it carries us through the most challenging of times, even death itself. I was visiting recently with a friend who is very ill. His wife had filled their home with beautiful praise music and there was peace there. There can be for you as well, as you trust in Christ.

These have been words from the heart.
