Hatred stirs up conflict, but love covers over all wrongs.
Proverbs 10:12 (NIV)
Loves Covers All Wrongs
In order to try to keep the current NHL season going, back on December 28 the league announced that it was going to allow teams to use taxi squads and minor league call-ups to cover for the regular team players who had succumbed to the Omicron variance. Under the new provisions, any team shy of having 12 forwards, six defensemen and two goaltenders available can bring up a player from the American Hockey League without playing a game with fewer than the usual 18 skaters.

The world wants to deny that sin exists. Even some churches teach that sin is an old concept and we’ve moved on. But the Bible says something completely different. It says that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). The entire Biblical narrative is based on the premise that we live in a world that is ravaged by sin, and because of sin, each one of us is separated from God. We are in desperate need of a redeemer. Our sin is real, and it divides us from one another and from our Creator. So, God has reached out in love by sending Jesus to remove our sin by His sacrificial love on the cross. Even before Jesus came, King Solomon understood the power of God’s agape love. In Proverbs 10:12 he wrote: “Hatred stirs up conflict, but love covers over all wrongs.” The good news of Jesus’ death is that His love doesn’t just cover our sin, but removes it. And when we love others in Jesus’ name, that love transforms relationships. There is enough hatred in this world – it is time for God’s people to love like Jesus.
These have been words from the heart.
