“There is no one holy like the Lord; there is no one besides you; there is no Rock like our God.”
1 Samuel 2:2 NIV
Unique
Vancouver hosts a unique festival each year. The Dine Out Vancouver festival, which just ended a couple of weeks ago, boasted the largest number of participating restaurants of any festival of its kind in Canada, with over 300 eateries involved. It included more than 40 culinary events. Some of the brand-new events for this year included a Grand Tasting opening gala at the Orpheum Theatre (home of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra), a rail car pop-up dinner aboard the Rocky Mountaineer, a Caribbean cooking class at the Calabash Bistro and dim sum tasting tours by A Wok Around Chinatown.

Seekers and atheists often ask me how I can be so sure that the God of the Bible is the one true God. The world is filled with gods, they say, and every religion has their own god. What makes the God of the Bible so special? There are many answers to that question – His omniscience – He knows all things; His omnipresence – His presence fills the universe; His agape love that has provided the Messiah Jesus as the only Saviour of the world; His holiness that sets Him apart from His sinful creation. These, and a thousand other aspects to His nature, make Him one-of-a-kind. This isn’t something that theologians made up – the Bible clearly teaches this. 1 Samuel 2:2 says “‘There is no one holy like the Lord; there is no one besides you; there is no Rock like our God.” There is only one true God, and only One way to know Him, and that is through faith in Jesus Christ, His one and only Son. Put your faith and trust in Jesus, and you will understand that He truly is unique.
These have been words from the heart.
