…the Lord your God is indeed God. He is the faithful God who keeps his covenant for a thousand generations and lavishes his unfailing love on those who love him and obey his commands.

Indeed God

The chain that runs landmark Canadian hotels like the Chateau Frontenac and the Fairmont Banff Springs has been ranked Canada’s best place to work, in a new survey from the job site Indeed. Fairmont Hotels and Resorts came out on top in a survey that ranked employers based on five categories: work-life balance; salary and benefits; job security and advancement; and management and culture. Fairmont excels on corporate culture, said Jodi Kasten, managing director at Indeed Canada. It’s a place where you can “start in an entry level position and move up through the ranks — a rarity these days in many workplaces.”

People make gods out of so many things. And then they get confused when those gods let them down. The god of money can soon run out, the good of pleasure can lead to illness, guilt and emptiness. The god of popularity can quickly turn its back on you. The idols made by human hands are no gods at all. There is only one true God. Deuteronomy 7:9 says “…the Lord your God is indeed God. He is the faithful God who keeps his covenant for a thousand generations and lavishes his unfailing love on those who love him and obey his commands.” There is only one living and active God. And He proves Himself by being faithful to the covenants He made with His people. He manifests His presence by providing for every need His people have. He watches over His faithful people. It is no wonder that the nations around Israel were jealous. Their gods were of no help to them at all. When the living God takes hold of our lives, we can count on Him lavishing His unfailing love on us.

These have been words from the heart.
