[Love] always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

No Giving Up

Canadians are usually pretty low key about our achievements, but sometimes it is good to remind ourselves, so we don’t give up what we have been doing. Canada was the third county in space, after the USSR and the USA. We were the first to have a satellite telecommunications system and the first to have an operational and commercially focused radar remote sensing system. We continue to be world leaders in satellite communications, Earth observation and space robotics. And since 1983, fourteen Canadians have been chosen to become astronauts.

There is no greater human relationship than a Christian marriage, where both husband and wife express the agape love of Jesus, and they live out their covenant marriage vows daily. Marriage is hard work. It takes a daily commitment to the marriage and immediate repentance when we fail to live up to the high standards that God calls His people to. The love chapter puts it this way in 1 Corinthians 13:7: “[Love] always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.” If a husband and wife commit each day to always protect, always trust and always hope, the marriage will persevere. It will do so because when both people in the marriage feel secure in the fact that their spouse is faithful to the vows that were made at the wedding. When trust is the foundation of the marriage, there is peace at the heart of the relationship. Does your spouse know that he or she can always trust you? Does he or she know that you have their back? If you’re not sure, sit down and talk about it.

These have been words from the heart.
