Words from the Heart for Monday December 28th, 2020
I am coming soon. Hold on to the faith you have, so that no one can take away your crown.
Revelation 3:11 (ERV)
If you are wondering if driverless cars will be coming to Canada soon, don’t get too excited just yet. The vehicles will likely not become commercial for some time. The driverless technology remains extremely expensive, putting it out of reach for the average consumer. As well there are still very few regulations regarding the vehicles, creating questions about liability in the event that something with a vehicle goes wrong. Then there’s the challenge that many consumers still do not trust the vehicles.
We have just celebrated the first coming of Jesus. That’s why the period leading up to Christmas is called Advent. The Bible speaks just as often about Jesus’ second advent. As surely as He was born in a manger, He is coming again. His second advent will be far different than His first. When He comes again, He won’t be discovered by a small group of Israeli shepherds, but by the entire world. He will come next, not as a baby in a manger, but as King of kings, and Lord of lords. Jesus Himself says, in Revelation 3:11: “I am coming soon. Hold on to the faith you have, so that no one can take away your crown.” The apostle Paul says that the return of Jesus is the blessed hope of His followers. We long for Him to come back and establish His eternal Kingdom of peace and joy. For those of us who have placed our faith and trust in Him, His return is going to be the most glorious day. We are called to hold on to the faith that has kept us in all that this life has sent our way, and into eternity.
These have been words from the heart.
