And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying: “Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!”

Luke 2:13-14 (NKJV)

Glory to God

The glory of the Lord and the splendor of heaven’s announcement became greater as angelic worship burst forth on the hillside. There was a multitude of the heavenly host praising and worshipping the Lord. They were as a military choir welcoming the Commander-in-Chief who had now appeared. Someday in His presence we will experience a similar scene of majestic worship. Let us use our voices to glorify Him now.

Canada has become known as “Hollywood North” for good reason, and it’s not just because of tax breaks. Cinematographers all over the world know that Canada is a treasure trove of beautiful and diverse locales. There are plenty of filmmakers who have found ways to integrate incredible Canadian landscapes into their movies. From soaring mountains to seaside towns to northern tundra, Canada is home to diverse natural sites and diverse stories too.

I love the ‘wow’ moments of life. Those experiences we have where our breath is taken away, when our mouths drop, when we rub our eyes to make sure that what we are seeing is real. The story of Jesus birth is filled with wow moments – angelic appearances galore, prophecies fulfilled like never before, and the incredible birth of a baby. And not just any baby. The Baby of babies. When Jesus is born, praise breaks out all over the place. In the stable, no doubt. Among the shepherds in the sheepfold. And throughout all of heaven. Luke 2:13-14 says “And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying: “Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!” The angels had been watching all of this unfold for eons. They would never experience what fallen men and women would because of this night – only human beings who received the gift of Jesus by faith experience the joy of sins forgiven. But the angels knew that God’s plan had finally come to pass – and that was worth glorifying God. Be sure to take plenty of time to do that too, redeemed ones!
