Truly my soul finds rest in God; my salvation comes from him.

Psalm 62:1 NIV

Listen to Words from the Heart

The Canadian 24-Hour Movement Guidelines recommend that adults aged 18 to 64 obtain 7 to 9 hours of good-quality sleep on a regular basis, with consistent sleep and wake times for health benefits. The sleep duration recommendation for adults aged 65 and older is 7 to 8 hours of sleep. Three-quarters of Canadian adults aged 18 to 64 and half of Canadian adults aged 65 and older meet sleep duration recommendations. Two-thirds of Canadian adults report high sleep quality.

A loved one in our family has faced some pretty severe medical challenges over the past few years. It was only in our relationship with Jesus Christ that we found peace in the midst of these difficult times. As we prayed, and we did often and regularly, we found peace and rest in the midst of the storm. We weren’t surprised by this – the Bible promises that this will be so. King David also experienced this and wrote about it in Psalm 62:1: “Truly my soul finds rest in God; my salvation comes from him.” As we walked through the challenges, we often asked each other, “How do people get through this without the Lord?” The Lord Jesus has been so faithful. If you are going through a challenging time right now, I encourage you to turn in faith to Jesus Christ, and lay everything you are facing at His feet. He will give you a peace and rest that you have probably thought is impossible. But Jesus makes the impossible possible. Your soul can find rest in God, too, as you trust Jesus, and put all you are facing in His care. Your salvation comes through Him and He offers you His peace and rest.

These have been words from the heart.
