For the Lord gives wisdom;
from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.

Proverbs 2:6 NIV

His Mouth

The St. Lawrence River, the foundation of the commercial St. Lawrence Seaway, runs 3,058 kilometres from the farthest headwater to the mouth, and 1,197 kilometres from the outflow of Lake Ontario. These numbers include the estuary; without the estuary, the length from Lake Ontario is approximately 500 km. The farthest headwater is the North River in the Mesabi Range at Hibbing, Minnesota. Its drainage area, which includes the Great Lakes, the world’s largest system of freshwater lakes, is 1.3 million square kilometres.

The Bible is very clear that God is a being of spirit, rather than flesh. He doesn’t have a physical body, although the Bible often speaks of God in a corporeal sense. For example, Proverbs 2:6 says, “For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.” God doesn’t have a physical mouth. But He is the God who speaks. He does so through His Word, the Bible, and through His Son, the Lord Jesus. Our God didn’t create the world and then let it run by itself. He is intimately involved in all that happens in this world and in our lives. In spite of how horrible things can be, God is aware, and has given us all we need for peace and hope. If we will take the time to listen and put into practice the principles of the Kingdom of God that are so clear in the Bible, the world would be such a better place and our lives would be so much better. God’s wisdom is available to us all. All we have to do is spend time daily in His word and then put what He teaches us into practice.

These have been words from the heart.
