Made New

Near Golden, British Columbia, the Golden Skybridge consists of the two highest suspension bridges in the country, connecting forested trails in BC’s iconic Columbia and Rocky Mountain ranges. The newly constructed bridges sit on top of each other—one at 130 metres and the other at 80 metres above ground—and offer up dramatic 360-degree views of the area’s alpine vistas, including a roaring 61-metre waterfall and serene mountain river in the deep canyon below. The bridge opened in May 2021.

Spring is the season of new things. As the cold begins to retreat, the first flowers begin to appear. Grass begins to turn green. There is a sense of newness in everything. It is an annual reminder of what God does in the life of all who put their faith and trust in Jesus Christ. The apostle Paul wrote this in Ephesians 4:23: “to be made new in the attitude of your minds.” When we become a follower of Jesus, everything about us is made new – including the attitude of our minds. The mind of anyone who has not yet become a follower of Jesus is on the things of this world. This is natural – when all a person has is this world, then this world drives all they are. But the moment we become a follower of Jesus we become focused on things that have eternal significance. It doesn’t mean that we aren’t concerned with the things of the world – but we view everything through the lens of the kingdom of God. Jesus not only changes hearts – He changes minds, He changes thinking, He changes attitudes. He will do this for you, if you trust Him with your life.

These have been words from the heart.
