Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”

God Will Never Leave You

If you’ve ever dreamed about leaving Canada for warmer pastures, you’re apparently not alone. One Redditor recently asked Canadians if they would ever leave Canada for good and the post racked up almost 200 comments, with many people getting very real about the reasons why they’d leave. People did not hold back. “It’s mid-March and [there’s] still a foot of snow. Every Canadian is thinking of moving somewhere warmer,” one comment read. “I’d love to live in a small village on the English countryside,” one Redditor stated.

Never base your theology on a bumper sticker. Never base your life’s ambition on the latest self-help book or motivational speaker. He who dies with the most toys does not win. You can’t do it your way and achieve anything that lasts for eternity. You don’t have it within you to become one with the cosmos – that isn’t the ultimate purpose of life anyway, and you don’t have the wherewithal to accomplish this even if it was. Listen to what the goal of every human being truly is, from Hebrews 13:5: “Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, ‘Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.’” God had given this promise to the people of Israel back in Deuteronomy and that promise is for us in our day as well. We are called to keep our eyes, not on the things this world says are important, but on Jesus Christ and all that is associated with His Kingdom and the things that have eternal significance. And the God who is with us will do the rest.

These have been words from the heart.
