Words from the Heart for Friday October 5th, 2018

None of my bones was hidden from you when you made me inside my mother’s body. That place was as dark as the deepest parts of the earth. When you were putting me together there…

Psalm 139:15 (NIRV)

Putting Me Together

The Scriptures give us a window into the miracle of life within the mother’s womb. Every detail of the new life being formed is seen by the Lord. Modern medical science can give pictures of the unborn baby. But, none can show the intricate, divine detail that speaks of our God. He sets His love upon the unborn child even before the day of birth.

Because of the ongoing trade challenges with the US, trade tariffs took effect on Canada Day and have the potential to raise the price of American-made products being sold on Canadian soil. So three Canadians from Toronto have decided to create a database of Canadian made products called Made in Canada. The team wanted to increase support for Canadian-made products, but found a void – they had no way of finding or identifying products made north of the border online. So they took it upon themselves to fill the gap.

The human body is an amazing piece of science. Every cell, every ligament, every bone, is miraculously fit together to fulfill its unique purpose. I have a surgeon friend who tells me that every time he performs a procedure and looks inside the human body, he is amazed again at how the Creator fashioned it all together. In David’s time, the human body wasn’t nearly as well studied and understood as it is today, yet under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, the third person of the Triune God who created us, King David wrote this in Psalm 139:15, “None of my bones was hidden from you when you made me inside my mother’s body. That place was as dark as the deepest parts of the earth. When you were putting me together there…” You are not a product of chance. In fact, I believe it is a greater leap of faith to believe that our bodies are a product of chance and selective breeding than to believe a loving Creator put us together. You are precious to your Creator. How can you respond to Him today, knowing that this is true?

These have been words from the heart.
