But I will sing of your strength, in the morning I will sing of your love; for you are my fortress, my refuge in times of trouble.
Psalm 59:16 NIV
Sing of Your Strength
According to the InvestCanada.ca website, one of Canada’s strengths is its workforce. The website says “You’ll feel right at home in Canada. Canada’s talent pool is diverse, committed and highly skilled. It’s also the world’s most educated workforce. Canadian workers bring new ideas, push boundaries and set a global standard for excellence. Canada’s focus on science, technology, engineering and math underpins our culture of innovation and bolsters our reputation as a world leader in R&D. Canada ranks #5 in the world for attracting international students, many of whom stay and call Canada home too.

I’m always amazed when I watch Strongman competitions. These brutes of human beings can lift amazing weights, and can pull huge trucks, trains and planes. I often think that I would like them to be around when I need someone to help me when I need to do some heavy lifting. In a spiritual sense, we are reminded in God’s Word that we never lack the strength we need when God calls us to do something. The Psalmist writes this in Psalm 59:16: “But I will sing of your strength, in the morning I will sing of your love; for you are my fortress, my refuge in times of trouble.” I love that David here begins his day by singing of God’s strength. I love the prayer I heard about recently. A man prayed “Lord, I thank you that I have not failed you today. I thank you that I am living in victory today. But in a minute, I’m going to get out of this bed, and then I’m really going to need your help.” Sing of God’s strength today, and He will be your fortress and refuge.
These have been words from the heart.
