Words from the Heart for Friday October 1st, 2021
Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.
Ephesians 4:32 (NLT)
Be Kind to Each Other
Someone on the Quora.com website asked if Canadians really are the friendliest and nicest people on earth. One responder said, “Generally speaking, I have found living and working across Canada that if I’m friendly and kind, people come back to me with friendship and kindness. Most Canadians are welcoming, and those in smaller communities generally seem more open and friendly. But that’s just my experience. Like with most things, we get in proportion to what we give with almost everything and almost everywhere on Earth.”
I like kind people. We are all blessed to know people who have kindness as the mark of their lives. In their actions and speech, they show they care about others and genuinely love to do nice things for others. This ought to be the mark of every follower of Jesus. In His instructions to the believers in Ephesus, Paul writes this in Ephesians 4:32: “Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.” Paul had noticed in the church that there were those who were bitter and angry and who spoke words of slander. The local church was, and is, filled with human beings, many of whom have been redeemed, but none yet perfect. Too often things are done or said that are painful and cause conflict. Paul’s instructions are just as important today as they were when he first wrote this letter to the believers in Ephesus. As followers of Christ we are to be kind to each other, in the way we act and speak. God is calling you, in all your relationships, to be tenderhearted with everyone God brings your way today.
These have been words from the heart.
