God Will Grant Our Heart’s Desire
Back in 2017 when Canada’s Parliament was discussing election reform, an online government poll showed that the desire of the majority of Canadians was that politicians from differing political parties compromise and collaborate. A report on the MyDemocracy.ca website, which gathered survey responses from early December 2016 until mid-January 2017, showed 70 per cent of respondents preferred a system where several parties “have to collectively agree before a decision is made.”

What is your greatest dream? What is your greatest longing for your children and grandchildren, for other loved ones? We all have dreams and hopes that drive us and cause us to do all we can to see those dreams come true. The challenge is that there is only so much we can do to see our dreams – for ourselves and others – come true. The Bible gives us a wonderful promise in James 1:17: “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.” God desires to pour out His blessings on His people. Every good thing that you have in your life – material, spiritual or emotional – has come from the God who created you and loves you. You can count on Him to continue to provide all you need. He knows you so well and knows what is best for you, and for your loved ones. He invites you to pour out your heart to Him in prayer – the longing and desire of your heart for yourself and others. He promises to provide good and perfect gifts to meet those needs. Take time today to bring your longings to the Lord Jesus in prayer.
