Words from the Heart for Friday June 1st, 2018
By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.
Hebrews 11:3 (NKJV)
Framed by the Word of God
Creation is a marvel. Creation is a miracle. Everything, whether seen through a telescope or a microscope is the work of our amazing God. The world itself was framed by His word. He spoke and everything about our world (seen and unseen) came into existence. We can know Him and His wonderful ways by faith. We can serve Him with confidence.
Since 1894, more than 340 Bible institutions have been established in Canada, including part-time day or evening schools with fewer than 10 students and full-time institutions with enrolments up to 3,000. It was only after 1920, that the movement burgeoned across Canada with more than two thirds of the institutions located in western Canada. In 1960, 47 Bible schools and colleges had 3417 students, and 25 years later, there were 37 schools with a total enrolment over 5426.
Our humanity, existing on a fallen planet, is so limited in our ability to grasp all that the Lord is doing among us. We have a hard time understanding how the things we see with our eyes function. Trying to understand what is happening in the heavenly realms is just about impossible. So listen to what Hebrews 11:3 has to say: “By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.” The Gospel begins with God’s creative power. God’s love for us, a love so deep that He would come to this earth and suffer an unimaginably painful death, is founded on the fact that He created this world and He created us. God spoke this world into being – which is what the author of Hebrews means when he says that the worlds were framed by the word of God. Unlike human creativity and ingenuity, which needs the things tangible in order to create, God created the physical out of that which cannot be seen. What great power and in light of this truth, what great love.
These have been words from the heart.
