And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.
Colossians 3:14 (NIV)
Put on Love
Located just outside Guelph, Ontario, The Donkey Sanctuary loves these gentle beasts of burden. A peaceful place with rolling landscapes and diverse habitats, The Donkey Sanctuary of Canada is a 200-acre working farm, consisting of the original 100 acres that founder Sandra Pady and her husband, David, purchased in the 1980s, plus an additional 100 acres that the non-profit organization bought in 2016. It is home to 100 donkeys, who spend their days sunbathing, playing and enjoying walks and grooming time with volunteers.

God wants to make us more and more like His Son Jesus. The work of the Holy Spirit in each of us who have trusted Jesus Christ is to transform us daily so that more and more the fruit of the Spirit will be evidenced in us. Only Jesus perfectly manifests each of the fruit of the Spirit, of course. But His desire is that we might become more and more kind, more and more gentle, more and more patient. This ultimate goal is found clearly in Colossians 3:14: “And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.” The greatest proof of God’s working in our lives is that we are loving others as He did. He poured out His life for us on the cross so that we can be set free from the bondage of sin and shame. It was His love that drove Him to this. We are called to pour out our lives for others as well – driven to do so by His love that we have put on daily as His Holy Spirit does His work in us and through us. How can you put on His love today?
These have been words from the heart.
