Again, the next day, John stood with two of his disciples. And looking at Jesus as He walked, he said, “Behold the Lamb of God!” The two disciples heard him speak, and they followed Jesus.
John 1:35-37 (NKJV)
They Followed Jesus

The prophets had predicted that before the coming of the Messiah, one would come who would prepare the way for the Promised One’s arrival. John the Baptist proved to be the fulfillment of those prophecies. He was in every way a Biblical prophet, preaching a strong message of repentance. The day Jesus came for His baptism, John declared that Jesus was the Lamb of God who had come to take away the sin of the world. The following day, John appears again with a couple of disciples. John 1:35-37 says, “Again, the next day, John stood with two of his disciples. And looking at Jesus as He walked, he said, “Behold the Lamb of God!” The two disciples heard him speak, and they followed Jesus.” While there are a number of ideas about who one of these disciples were – some say Andrew, others say Philip — most commentators believe that one of them was John the Evangelist, the author of the Gospel that records this story. We are also called to the ministry of reconciliation – pointing others to Jesus and calling them to become His followers as well. How can you do that today?
