Words from the Heart for Friday August 3rd, 2018
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
Philippians 4:13 (NKJV)
Our God is unlimited in His power. He is mighty and works in supernatural ways. Whatever our challenges, He has given us the promise that through Christ we can be strengthened to do “all things.” He is available to you. Your achievement will bring Him glory.
If you want to feel better, there is one simple way that doesn’t include pills or diet—get walking. It reduces heart disease by 60 per cent, cancer by 27 per cent, Alzheimer’s by 50 per cent and arthritis by 47 per cent. It’s the best treatment for fatigue and lower back pain. It cuts anxiety and depression by 48 per cent. And you are guaranteed to lose weight. Walking won’t cost you anything and as one doctor said, “movement is the best medicine.”
God calls us to accomplish the humanly impossible. Ponder that for a moment. He has given us the task of taking the message of Jesus to the entire world, and to boldly share the Good News of the Gospel, even where it isn’t welcome. God has no plan B for reaching the lost and transforming entire communities – He only has plan A which is His Body, the church. When we look at this mandate from the human perspective, it is impossible – we simply can’t do this. But God never gives an unfunded mandate – those He calls, He equips. So Paul the apostle was able to say in Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Over the years I have seen far too many Christians burn out serving the Lord. They keep so busy, serving the Lord in their own strength, that they soon become exhausted and even disillusioned. Paul had learned the secret to a life of service for Christ – he was able to do all things through Christ, who strengthened him. Jesus provides for us all we need to serve Him – tap into His inexhaustible resources.
These have been words from the heart.
