Words from the Heart for Friday August 2nd, 2019
It will be a sign and witness to the Lord Almighty in the land of Egypt. When they cry out to the Lord because of their oppressors, he will send them a savior and defender, and he will rescue them.
Isaiah 19:20 (NIV)
When They Cry Out
This past January, a Newfoundland mayor said dozens of stranded seals were causing havoc in her town, and she called on federal Fisheries officials to remove them. Roddickton Mayor Sheila Fitzgerald said the wayward animals were blocking roads, driveways and doors — and residents were unable to move them because it is illegal to touch marine mammals. Fitzgerald said the group of about 40 harp seals were becoming hungry, tired and crying out, suggesting they may have been too disoriented to find their own way back to the ocean.
God loves you. For some of you that might be hard to believe at the moment – life can be challenging and painful, and when it gets overwhelming, it can be difficult to believe that God really does love you. But He does. And He doesn’t miss any of the challenges of your life, or ignore the pain you are dealing with. He promises over and over again that He will always provide a way out. Isaiah 19:20 says this: “It will be a sign and witness to the Lord Almighty in the land of Egypt. When they cry out to the Lord because of their oppressors, he will send them a savior and defender, and he will rescue them.” When the people of Israel were in Egypt, enslaved by the Egyptians and being punished unjustly, God provided Moses, a saviour, who led them to freedom. He has provided a Saviour for you, as well. His name is Jesus, and He not only walks with you through all that life brings your way, He will provide a way out. You can count on this. Reach out to Him in faith today.
