Words from the Heart for Friday August 24th, 2018
As surely as my new heavens and earth will remain, so will you always be my people, with a name that will never disappear,” says the Lord. “All humanity will come to worship me from week to week and from month to month.
Isaiah 66:22-23 (NLT)
All Humanity Will Come and Worship
The Lord can be counted upon to fulfill His promises to us. He has much prepared for us but all of this flows out of His commitment to us as His people. What a wonderful future day is shown to the prophet Isaiah. Truly the Lord is worthy of the worship of all whom He has made.
In 2011, Canada had a foreign-born population of about 6,775,800 people. They represented 20.6% of the total population, the highest proportion among the G8 countries. More than 200 ethnic origins were reported in the 2011 National Household Survey. In 2011, 13 different ethnic origins had surpassed the 1-million mark. Combined, the three largest visible minority groups—South Asians, Chinese and Blacks—accounted for 61.3% of the visible minority population in 2011. They were followed by Filipinos, Latin Americans, Arabs, Southeast Asians, West Asians, Koreans and Japanese.
From the moment that sin entered into the human heart and was then unleashed into the world, God has come after men and women, seeking to redeem them, drawing them back to Himself. In the Garden of Eden God calls out to Adam and Eve, “Where are you?” From that moment on, God set into motion His plan, and the Bible is both the revelation of His plan and the story of how it unfolds. Early on, the Bible tells us that God’s plan is enormous – there would be men and women from every nation and language in His Kingdom. The prophet Isaiah tells it this way in Isaiah 66:22-23, “As surely as my new heavens and earth will remain, so will you always be my people, with a name that will never disappear,” says the Lord. “All humanity will come to worship me from week to week and from month to month.” Written some 2700 years ago, the prophet speaks of a time we still long for when God’s redemptive plan will be brought to completion. It is going to come soon–as we gather to worship our God and King.
These have been words from the heart.
