No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 8:37-39 (NIV)

More Than Conquerors

From the late 15th century, French and British expeditions explored, colonized, and fought over various places within North America in what constitutes present-day Canada. The colony of New France was claimed in 1534 with permanent settlements beginning in 1608. France ceded nearly all its North American possessions to the United Kingdom in 1763 at the Treaty of Paris after the Seven Years’ War. The now British Province of Quebec was divided into Upper and Lower Canada in 1791.

Most of us don’t like to lose. If we are involved in a game or sport, or any other kind of competition, we are often in it to win it. It is part of human nature. While it is true that some people are more competitive than others, every human being wants to succeed in some way. This certainly ought to be true when it comes to things of the Spirit. The apostle Paul writes this in Romans 8:37-39: “No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Through faith in Jesus Christ, we can live in victory each and every day. He has already conquered death and demons, and is outside of time, so the future is secure in Him. Nothing in this world or the next can defeat Him, or separate us from Him. So keep your eyes on Jesus and today you will live in victory.

These have been words from the heart.
