For as the soil makes the sprout come up and a garden causes seeds to grow, so the Sovereign Lord will make righteousness and praise spring up before all nations.
Isaiah 61:11 (NIV)
High quality fresh fruit is something that Canadians are lucky to have in abundance, not only on the shelves of our grocery stores, but often in our backyards. Canadian fruit producers grow and distribute a huge array of fresh fruit across Canada and around the world. Fruit production in Canada is increasing overall in terms of cultivated area exports and farm gate value, showing the Canadian fruit production industry is alive and well. There are 7,845 fruit farms in Canada.
Canadians love to garden. Whether you are an urbanite, or live in the country like I do, it is pretty obvious in August that Canadian soil is productive. The Creator designed it to be so – out of well tended soil will come an abundance of crops. What we see in our gardens and farm fields is a picture of what the Lord can do in the human heart. Isaiah 61:11 says, “For as the soil makes the sprout come up and a garden causes seeds to grow, so the Sovereign Lord will make righteousness and praise spring up before all nations.” God works in the heart of everyone who desires to produce righteousness. Sin has made the soil of the human heart tough ground. It has become hardened towards the things of its Creator. But God is able to till that sin-filled soil and remove all that prevents the fruit of righteousness from producing the fruit of the Spirit. And anyone who produces that fruit recognizes what a great work God has done in their heart and praise naturally breaks forth. Has God done a work of producing the fruit of righteousness in your heart? Then take time today to praise Him!
These have been words from the heart.
