Freedom of religion is guaranteed in the constitution, which was modified in 1998 to loosen ties between the state and Buddhism, and to increase harmony among religious communities. Many church and mission leaders feel Thailand is poised for its greatest breakthrough of church growth. Already, 65% of ethnic Thai church members are first-generation believers.
Starting New Churches
The Starting New Churches program is an intensive one-year action and reflection orientated program that offers practical skills, Biblical training, mentoring and follow-up. It is summarized in the five following steps.

Looking over a map of Thailand will reveal a country whose borders form the rough shape of an elephant’s head: the head and ears forming the mostly landlocked northern and eastern provinces and the trunk extending down the Malaysian peninsula between the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand.
