Verse of the Day for Wednesday 30th December 2015

The Spirit of the Lord will rest on him—the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of might, the Spirit of the knowledge and fear of the Lord.

Isaiah 11:2


Knowledge and fear are held together in this verse. Knowing God means we are intimately connected to Him, but we also fear Him because of His amazing power. Why is it important that we fear God? Can we ever fear God too much? Is this fear like a terror, or a reverence?
