Prayer Request: Week of October 2nd, 2016

[Ethiopia]

Yaki glances outside her open front door as she prepares breakfast for her three children. Her eyes rest on a dusty spot just a dozen steps from her home. It’s here, under the relentless Ethiopian sun, that her late husband rests. To Yaki, it feels like just yesterday that she said goodbye, but on her face are the telltale signs left from months of struggling to make ends meet. Yaki wishes she could have buried her husband in the community gravesite, or that she had support from her community. But because she is an Evangelical Christian, she and her children have been shunned by the town. The village leaders don’t take kindly to Yaki’s beliefs.

Please pray for Yaki, and many other Ethiopian Christians who suffer being ostracized by their community for their beliefs.
