Introducing the Love of Christ to Inmates

BLC introducing love of christ to inmates PS

Dear Bible League Canada,

God has become so real to me lately. Not only am I experiencing His loving grace and guidance in my own life, but others are being drawn to Him as well.

Yesterday, when I went to court, I was in a holding cell with a guy I’ve never met who looked really sad. We began chatting and I told him about my faith in Christ. He had just lost his earthly father and told me he almost committed suicide. After telling him about our Lord, and how He has delivered me, the man broke down crying. When he left, I encouraged him. He shook my hand and said, “I have never met an inmate like you. There is something different about you, I can see it in your face.”

Thank you for the Biblical Foundation course. It has been absolutely awesome—such a growing experience for me as a Christian man. I am eager to learn even more through the Tier 2 Biblical Life-Focus Series. You folks have played a big part in my growing as a Christian child of God. I share with others a lot—boasting about God. My anger has also turned to righteous respect for my Savior.

We have a very real and Almighty God. Even when I sin, I can truly say Satan has no control over me anymore. I repent immediately and snap, I am washed as white as snow—Hallelujah! But I also realize that my salvation is not a license to sin—I used to take this approach but not anymore. I know what it means to commit to and have reverence for God. It is all because of our Lord and Saviour, who has broken the stone of my hardened heart. God uses the sorrow and guilt I feel for the things I have done for His glory.

It is wonderful the work you do to reach us inmates in a dark place. Thank you so much for your kind, loving support. I hope one day, I’ll be able to give back for all you’ve done for me. I can’t wait to hear from you again. May God bless all of you.
Love and prayers, your brother in Christ,
Jeff Bailey*

Prison inmates are valued in the eyes of God

Our Biblical Foundation series offers mentorship and training to the 54,000 men and women serving time in Canadian prisons. Inmates like Jeff are matched with a trained Christian mentor who personally marks each Bible lesson and sends regular letters of encouragement. God does the rest.

True rehabilitation starts within

Imagine a world where every man, woman and teenager in the Canadian prison system is transformed by the Word of God. These children of the Lord, once rejected by society, can have the chance for a new life. Hundreds of inmates across the country are already studying the Bible to find hope in Jesus Christ, and we want to reach many more.

One gift can change a life forever
