You Are a Light

Christianity can transform your life. For many people who become Christian, they have a hard time recognizing who they were before they accepted God into their lives. People have been able to leave behind feelings of regret, sadness and anger, and rest in God’s peace and happiness. That is the power of His love and mercy.

Sometimes, however, it can be difficult to show His love and kindness to others, as busy schedules and stressful situations can consume our thoughts. It is not until we hand all of our worries over to Him, that we can be a blessing in someone’s life and show them the true love of God.

“Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.”– Matthew 5:16

Samvel, a 7 year old boy from Armenia, attended a Bible Club where he was able to meet other children his age, and learn about God. During the time that he attended, his grandmother saw enormous changes in his behaviour as Samvel, who was once demanding and difficult, was now courteous and kind. His grandmother was amazed by the changes that she saw in him, and needed to know more about God. Samvel was a light to his grandmother, allowing her to understand just how amazing God is, as He was able to transform Samvel’s life.

God loves His children, and it is by His love that we are forgiven of our sins. Church is a great place to be able to worship Him and thank Him for all that He has done, but it is not the only place where we should be a light. In everything that we do, we need to show just how awesome He is. This can be in the form of daily prayer, how we react to situations, how we treat strangers and loves ones, and how we speak to others.

We are called to be a light in this world, so that others may know God. It is by seeing His goodness in our actions, that others can learn just how amazing He is, and how special our relationship is with Him.

“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden;”

Matthew 5:14
