The Word of God is not only encouraging and comforting and providing answers to peoples’ questions, but it is literally saving lives.

In the military hospital in Kiev, Ukraine a wounded soldier is being treated. After being wounded in the war zone in Eastern Ukraine he was transported to Kiev for treatment. During the conversation with our church planter, the soldier, asked:  “Do you want to see a miracle?” He opened his nightstand and got out his bag and from it his military ID (a passport like booklet). Inside the ID booklet was a plastic card containing the Lord’s Prayer on one side and Psalm 91 on the reverse side.

During  the shooting in Eastern Ukraine a shell splinter cut through Alexander’s uniform and half way through his ID booklet. This deadly shell splinter was stopped by the plastic Bible text card.

After this event Alexander started to study the Bible and today he says: “How could I stop reading the Bible, when it is able to stop shell splinters and it gives life?”

He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
