It’s worth it

Is life easy? No. Life is filled with sickness, death, hurt and heartache. It is, however, also filled with love, patience, kindness, and happiness. Many times as Christians, we believe that when we ask God into our lives, the pain and sadness will cease to exist. This is not the case as these emotions are a part of our lives and are just as valuable as joy and happiness. Through experiencing the negative, we can truly begin to understand the positive in our lives and grasp its full meaning. Will life be easier as a Christian? God says otherwise, but it is worth it.

God’s Love is Constant

Roman’s 8:35 says, “Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death?” Through this verse, God is sharing an incredible message with His children. He is saying that although we will experience difficulties in this world, we will never be apart from His incredible love. This world is not perfect, and God knows this full well. He also knows that we are not perfect and that we rely on His guidance and strength to overcome these challenges. It is when we lean on God when the going gets tough that we can truly understand His goodness and love, and show it to those around us.

He Has Overcome

Another important verse to remember when we begin to question our journey with God and the plan that He has for our lives is John 16:33. “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” In John, we learn that even though we have asked God to come into our hearts, we are not immune from the difficulties of the world. We are, however, under the protection of God as He has conquered the world and all of the difficulties that we may face. When we encounter struggles with our finances, jobs, relationships, families, and so forth, we can know that God has overcome it all. He knows our feeling and worries, but He also knows our future, the provisions that we will receive and the strength of our faith. We, as Christians, need to place our trust in Him, and remember that He is God!

God never gives us what we can’t handle, but when we do face trials, we need to find our peace in Him. It can be difficult to do, but as we lean on God for help we can understand how amazing He is, and get to know our Heavenly Father in incredible ways.
