Although Joseph has no recollection of the event, when he was 7 years old, he and his whole family were baptized as members of a sect in the town of Shumen.

Some years ago, the group leaders closed their building and moved on. But by God’s providence, Angelov, newly trained to start new churches through your support, moved in to that part of town. His goal was to create a new community of Christians in that building. He soon met Joseph and his brothers and began regularly sharing the Gospel with them. They had many questions: this was much different than what they had heard growing up.

At the same time, Angelov focused on starting a church in the neighbourhood, and Joseph was eager to help with the renovation of the building — it was an interesting project, and he enjoyed the work.

Working side by side, Angelov and Joseph had many opportunities for questions and discussion. As Joseph continued to read the Bible that Angelov gave him, the Lord touched Joseph’s heart and he repented. Joseph expressed a desire to make a true covenant with the Lord through water baptism in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

You provided Angelov’s training and the opportunity for him to meet and disciple Joseph and his family.
