Bringing the Bible to South Sudan

Since Bible League Canada was founded in 1960, we have been working to bring the Bible to countries around the world. Through translating Bibles, providing Biblical training and resources to leaders, and establishing churches through local champions, we have been able to see lives be transformed from the inside out through the power of the Living Word of God.

People have been able to find freedom, hope and love in Christ so that they may be able to look at life with a new perspective as they walk in faith. Incredible things have happened in the lives of people, but that does not mean that our work is done. Many countries that we work in are home to religious persecution, genocide, illiteracy, and a struggling economy. South Sudan is one such country that continues to face incredible hardships, but is where people are still walking in faith because of God’s Word!

I, therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. {Ephesians 4: 1-4}

This past holiday season, we were able to provide Raising Hope Boxes to children in South Sudan. Due to the current conflicts, our volunteers and supporters met with these children in refugee camps to share God’s word. Despite the pain and fear that these children were facing, they were able to experience God’s peace and find comfort in the scriptures as they got to know their Heavenly Father.

Much still needs to be done to help South Sudan achieve peace, as they have been in conflict since 2013. Recently, schools have been bombed; fighting has increased, and many are concerned that genocide is going to take place in South Sudan because of rising issues and ethnic conflicts.

God, however, is moving in the people of South Sudan as children are learning how to love one another. He is working in the hearts of the younger generation, and only God knows what impact that will have on the country once these refugees are able to come home. The love of God can do great things!

Please join us as we pray for hope and peace, during this time of death and violence. Thank you for your support!

Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for me?

Jeremiah 32:27
